It's very hard to stay focused on art and work after a long weekend. Especially when it's only a holiday for the kids so you end up spending three hours at the zoo. Then I come home feeling wiped out. My kids love the zoo but I have to admit to being not the biggest zoo fan. The zoos out here are not very well funded and it shows but honestly I only like the really nice zoos slightly better. I'll take a quiet and contemplative art museum over a chaotic and smelly zoo any day. In the end I used the time that my kids napped to rest and had the energy in the evening to catch up on work.
